EDMONTON HEAD OFFICE

CDC Inc. was founded by Curtis Cossey in 1996 and started as an agricultural and property tax appeal firm. In the 25 years of his appraisal experience he has been involved in all aspects of real estate valuation and property tax appeal, including residential, commercial and industrial properties, meat processing plants, farmland, development land, seed cleaning plants, ultra executive homes, remote properties, grain elevators, canola plants, large scale farming operations, native land claim settlements and some of the largest feedlots in Canada. Curtis has grown CDC Inc. to a firm of over 75 appraisers and administrators. Due to the versatility in his experience appraising all facets of real estate, Curtis has a strong belief that all property can be appraised anywhere, efficiently, and cost effectively, and this belief has been instilled with the appraisers at CDC. When Curtis is not working he enjoys time with his family and travelling.

TORONTO OFFICE

In 2001 Ryan completed his Bachelor of Commerce Degree at the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management, and began working as an investment analyst. Shortly after, he recognized his interest in real estate and continued his education with an MBA in Real Property Development at the Schulich School of Business, York University. After volunteering for Habitat for Humanity’s Site Selection and Development Committee, he joined CDC Inc. in 2016 and began appraising various forms of residential properties throughout Southern Ontario, including executive homes, rural properties, multi-family and new developments. He obtained the Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI) and Professional Appraiser (P.App.) designations in 2021 and primarily focuses on valuation of industrial, commercial, agricultural and special use properties, including portfolios, subdivisions and consulting studies. Ryan continues to improve his knowledge with courses in statistical analysis and believes in their use as a modern appraising technique.

EXPERIENCE:
Matt Tozer is a Commercial Appraiser and Appraisal Reviewer with CDC. He has been active in the valuation of a wide variety of real estate assets since 2000. He has completed current and retrospective market value estimates of residential, industrial, commercial, multi-family and vacant land assets. He has also been involved in consulting studies for various purposes including market rent studies, market performance analysis and development project research. Matt has completed a number of review engagements of appraisal reports on properties across Canada. Matt has appeared as an expert witness at Court of Queen’s Bench and the Alberta Utility Commission.

EXPERIENCE:
Lauren joined our company in 2014 and has been working in the real estate industry since 2010. Lauren has worked in primarily Commercial and Agricultural Real Estate appraisals, as well as some residential. She also previously worked for the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation in property assessment.  Lauren earned a Bachelors of Commerce majoring in Real Estate and Housing from the University of Guelph in 2013. Lauren received her AACI designation in April 2020. Lauren lives with her husband, daughter and two dogs on the shores of Lake Huron and enjoys being outdoors or on the water.

EXPERIENCE:
In 2004, Dan MacDonell joined CDC Consulting Services Inc. and began his career in the appraisal industry. Dan has completed appraisal assignments from Calgary to Yellowknife and has gained valuable experience in appraising a wide variety of properties. In 2012, Dan obtained his CRA designation from the Appraisal Institute of Canada and is currently pursuing his Diploma in Urban Land Economics. Through his time at CDC Dan has carried out valuations of residential, commercial, agricultural and multi-family dwellings for mortgage financing to litigation purposes. In Dan’s free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and two kids along with helping on the family farm.

EXPERIENCE:
Amanda has been an appraiser since 2006, specializing in the residential sector including single-family dwellings, acreages, and multi-family dwellings of four units and under. Over the years, she has gained experience in all facets of residential appraising, from executive properties to assessment appeals. Amanda is continually advancing her knowledge of the industry through educational courses and stays up to date with current market trends. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the lake, hiking, and spending time with her husband and two kids.

Josh joined CDC Inc. in 2020 and received his AACI designation in June 2024. He has completed market value estimates of residential, multi-family, industrial, agricultural, office, special purpose properties and new developments. He also previously worked for the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation as a Property Inspector and has a finance background from his time at Scotiabank, along with his Bachelor of Business Administration from Laurentian University. Josh currently sits as the Chapter Chair for the Peterborough/Lindsay Chapter of the AIC – Ontario Association and volunteers with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program in Peterborough. Josh enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to the cottage, and playing a variety of sports including golf and basketball.

QUEBEC CITY OFFICE

Anthony joined the CDC team in 2019. He is a member in good standing of the Ordre des évaluateurs agréés du Québec since 2020. Prior to becoming a real estate appraiser, Anthony founded Gestion immobilière Summa Inc. in 2015 and was responsible for a large real estate portfolio in Québec City. At the same time, he graduated from Université Laval in Business Administration in 2018. Over the past few years, he has worked with several real estate stakeholders and has developed a solid network of contacts in this field. A real estate investor himself, Anthony specializes in income property appraisals and has solid experience in mortgage refinancing.

Brett Dombrova has worked in the real estate industry since 2008, and he specializes in ultra high-end residential, acreage, multi-family residential, and farmland properties. Brett works with developers, Realtors, private investors, and lenders in many more complex and sensitive residential assignments including litigation throughout all of Alberta. Brett Dombrova has his CRA, P.App. Designation from the Appraisal Institute of Canada, as well as a Bachelor of Commerce and Appraisal and Assessment Diploma.

EXPERIENCE:
A graduate of the University of British Columbia, experienced appraiser, and a longstanding member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada, Anton Suurkask was born and raised in the Point Grey neighbourhood of Vancouver.  As the son of immigrants, Anton began his career at the family business where he worked in retail, service, and management. With nearly a decade of appraisal experience, Anton has extensive background on the various markets across the lower mainland and specializes in appraising multi-million-dollar mansions and luxury penthouses.  Having appraised real estate throughout the rise, fall, and rise, again, of the Vancouver real estate market, Anton can confidently ascertain fair market values in a constantly fluctuating environment.  Anton resides in Mount Pleasant with his wife and shih-Tzu.

EXPERIENCE:
Jimmy Cheung joined our company in 2009, and again in 2018, after a brief time away. He has been working in the real estate industry since 2008. Jimmy has worked as a real estate appraiser in the Regina area, completing market value estimates on all types of residential properties, including single-family dwellings, condominiums, acreages, new construction, vacant lots, and multi-family dwellings of four units or less. Jimmy had completed a Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics in 2005 and a Masters degree in Economics in 2007 through the University of Saskatchewan, completed the PGCV in 2012 and Certificate in Residential Valuation in 2017 through the Sauder School of Business at UBC, and received his CRA designation from the Appraisal Institute of Canada in 2018.

Peter joined the Appraisal Institute of Canada in 1990 and received his AACI in 2001. Peter has been involved with the Appraisal Institute from the start; as a candidate he served as secretary with the Peterborough Lindsay Chapter. He was elected as the Regional Director for the Ontario Association after serving as Chair for three terms. While serving on the Ontario Association Board, he was President for two years. He has continued to be involved with AIC as a member of the Board of Examiners and various other committees. Most recently Peter was elected as President Elect for the National AIC board.

Governance and community service has always been important to Peter. He was appointed by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario to the Peterborough-Lakefield Police Services Board and served as chair for two years. Peter served as governor for Fleming College for six years, three of which were as chair.

Peter has practiced as a fee appraiser and mentored several candidates that have successfully been granted their designations.

Corrie became a Candidate Member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada in September 2012. Corrie worked continuously to complete the required courses of the AACI designation through the University of British Columbia’s Real Estate Division, and obtained his P.App., AACI in 2020. His work is based on a wide range of projects, with various clients. Corrie holds an Honours Bachelors degree in Geography and Environmental Studies from McMaster University.

Robin became a candidate member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada in 2005. She received her Post Graduate Certificate in Real Property Valuation (PGCV) from the University of British Columbia Sauder School of Business in 2013 and obtained her commercial accredited appraiser’s designation (AACI) in 2018. Her work is with a wide range of projects, with a wide variety of clients. Robin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from McGill University.

Michael has been a member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada since 1986. He received his commercial accredited appraiser’s designation (AACI) in 1991. Michael is also a licensed Sales Representative with the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) and a member of the Ottawa Real Estate Board. In addition, Michael is a licensed Mortgage Broker and a member of Mortgage Professionals Canada.

Michael has practiced as a fee appraiser and mentored several candidates that have successfully been granted their designations.

Morgan has over 6 years of experience completing commercial and residential real property valuations and consulting reports throughout Canada. He completed a Bachelor of Business in Real Estate in 2012, and obtained his AACI, P.App. Designation from the Appraisal Institute of Canada in 2017. He has completed a wide scope of assignments including current, prospective, and retrospective market value estimates of industrial, commercial, multi-family, hotel, residential and vacant land assets. He has also been involved in consulting studies for various purposes including highest/best use studies, market rent studies, oil and gas equipment assets, business use assets, and construction progress reports. Morgan has also completed a number of review engagements of appraisal reports across Canada as well as mentored and trained several candidate members.

CALGARY OFFICE

Vincent Kim has worked in real estate industry since 2008, and joined CDC in 2019. He is specialized in various types of residential and commercial properties, completing wide scope of residential, industrial, commercial, hotel, equipment, and residential properties.  Vincent had completed bachelor’s degree in Engineering in 1997 and shifted his career into real estate, and completed the degree in the Sauder School of Business at UBC. He received the AACI, P.App. designation from  the Appraisal Institute of Canada..

TORONTO OFFICE

Igor Konon has worked in the real estate industry since 2009, starting career as real estate salesperson. Igor has joined appraisal profession in 2016 and gained his CRA, P.App Designation from the Appraisal Institute of Canada in 2021. He works in Greater Toronto Area on all types of residential properties, applying his deep knowledge and extensive experience in real estate and construction areas. Igor has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.

Dan Santin has 30 years residential appraisal experience in Grey-Bruce Ontario and has mentored, reviewed, and co-signed for other candidate appraisers in Northern, Central, and Southern Ontario including cottage country. Education accreditation’s include CRA, P.App, BSc, and BEd.

Arash Pouran obtained his MBA in 2018 and joined CDC Inc. in 2021. He earned his Certificate in Residential Valuation (CRV) and achieved his designation as a Canadian Residential Appraiser (CRA) through the Appraisal Institute of Canada. Arash has completed a wide range of assignments, including residential, mass appraisal, commercial, and agricultural properties, with a strong focus on the Greater Vancouver area. Beyond his appraisal practice, Arash is a certified scuba diving instructor and an avid windsurfer, who also enjoys playing tennis and spending quality time with his family.

VANCOUVER OFFICE

Saad is a real estate appraiser with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Guelph, class of 2020, specializing in Real Estate and Housing. He received his AACI designation in February of 2024 and his expertise spans residential and commercial appraisals. Saad possesses extensive appraisal experience across both Southwestern and Eastern Ontario, demonstrating a robust understanding of diverse property markets. Saad enjoys spending time with friends and family, and watching football.

Anthony Ciambrone is a designated member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada. Anthony joined the CDC INC team in 2022 and works as a fee appraiser in the greater Montreal area. Anthony has built an extensive career as a third-party verification professional in the real estate, brand assurance and advertising industries. Anthony’s career began conducting compliance audits and evaluations in supervisory roles for various governmental and advertising association standards with brand safety leader, AAM/BPA Worldwide. His experience provides a unique foundation in third-party compliance services and regulatory verification systems which he integrates into his appraisal techniques. Anthony holds a bachelor’s degree from Concordia University and the AIC’s valuation certification program from the University of British Columbia.

Lynn has been appraising a diverse portfolio of property types since 2016 within Southwestern Ontario including residential, commercial and farm properties. She specializes in commercial and agricultural appraisal and gained her CRA designation in 2024. Lynn owns a horse farm within Rockwood, Ontario and naturally is drawn to agricultural assignments. She also has a degree in Journalism from Metropolitan University in Toronto and enjoys writing narrative reports for CDC clients. Lynn founded Hooves for Hospice in 2018, a yearly charitable equine event that supports Hospice Wellington, in Guelph Ontario. She also volunteers for the Wellington Waterloo Chapter of AIC Ontario.  When not writing reports Lynn enjoys spending time with her husband and horses on the farm in Rockwood.

Kevin is a graduate of Laurentian University, Sudbury, with a bachelor’s degree in economics, and spent the majority of his professional career working in the healthcare industry. Turning his focus to real estate appraisal, he earned his AIC Candidate Member status in June 2022 and shortly after joined the CDC Inc. team. In December 2024, he earned his Canadian Residential Appraiser (CRA) and Professional Appraiser (P.App.) designations.    

Kevin completes residential property appraisals of all types: waterfront, acreage, rural, and multi-residential, as well as commercial and agricultural appraisals in a broad geographic area covering central Ontario.

Jerry completed his degree in Bachelor of Management Studies and embarked on his professional journey at a major Canadian bank. However, his passion for real estate valuation led him to join CDC in 2016, where he has since cultivated a robust expertise in appraising a diverse range of properties. His experience encompasses residential evaluations, including single-family homes, executive residences, rural properties, multi-family dwellings, as well as commercial properties throughout Southern Ontario. Jerry is proud to hold the CRA designation from the Appraisal Institute of Canada, which reflects his commitment to excellence in the field. His dedication drives him to continually learn and improve. When he is not immersed in the world of real estate, you can find him cheering for his favorite football (soccer) team, as his love for the sport adds another layer of joy to his life.

Colleen has been an appraiser since 2004 and has appraised all types of real estate in her career. She holds a diploma in Appraisal and Assessment and a Certificate in Real Property Assessment from the University of British Columbia. Her assertive disposition allows her to make solid and sound financial decisions at CDC. Colleen manages several administrators and collaborates with the CEO on several projects. Colleens experience in the hospitality industry is exhibited through her good customer service skills. Colleen volunteers with several organizations and leads organization roles with tournaments, competitions and social functions. She also manages a large family in her spare time with her husband.

Amanda joined our team in 2021, bringing with her a diverse background in administration and accounting. Her attention to detail, keen organization skills and ambitious personality all play a part in her strong character within the workplace. Amanda prides herself on being a team player and contributing to the success of CDC Inc. Outside the office, Amanda likes to travel, enjoys spending time with her 2 dogs and attending shows with her husband in their classic Z car.

Maya was born and raised in Sherwood Park.. When not working she is at the curling rink teaching and curling. Maya loves to camp in the summer. You can find her at the lake with family and friends or walking her rescue dog with her husband.

Rebecca was born in Cameroon, lived in Belgium, and settled in Edmonton, Canada. She holds a Master’s degree in Multilingual Communication and Business Strategy from the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium. Passionate about corporate communication, business administration, cultures, and languages, Rebecca is also genuinely interested in human connections. Out of work, she practices boxing to fuel her focus and train herself to always be ready to rise a challenge. She reads, travels, and hangs out with friends.

Janelle Michaels is a recent graduate from MacEwan University with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Human Resource Management. She was naturally drawn to HR thanks to her strong communication skills and genuine interest in people and what makes them tick. A big animal lover — especially when it comes to dogs — Janelle enjoys spending quality time with her large family and close friends. She’s also passionate about hands-on creative work, whether that’s crafting resin art, building wood projects, or tackling something new and DIY. For Janelle, it’s all about connection, creativity, and appreciating the little things in life.

Jordan grew up on the Westcoast of BC and moved to Edmonton in 2024. She has always had a love for animals since she was little and completed her Veterinary Assistant Certificate in 2020. Jordan used to compete in 3 day eventing when she was a teenager. When Jordan is not at work, she is at the barn riding horses or out hiking/adventuring with her fiancé.

Shae was born and raised in Edmonton. She obtained her Administrative Professional Certificate from Norquest College in 2019, after which she spent 5 years managing a Healthcare clinic. With over 10 years of experience working in customer service positions, Shae has a passion for helping others and enjoys opportunities to expand her skillset and knowledge. In her spare time, Shae enjoys adventuring around the city with her boyfriend, spending time with her nieces and nephews, or at home catching up on her favorite reality TV shows or a good documentary.

Michelle joined our team in 2023 and has worked in many different areas throughout her career, like nursing. But found that she enjoyed doing administrative roles better. Michelle has lived in Sherwood Park all her life. In her spare time, you can find her camping with friends and family and spoiling her nephews and niece. Her goal is to one day make it to Australia to hold a koala bear.
